DEVELON DL280-7–WHEEL LOADERS

RUGGED DURABILITY

The DEVELON DL280-7 wheel loader offers durability and maneuverability for loading and carrying construction materials or transporting scrap. New optional stronger axles increase lift capacities and an optional larger counterweight can be added.

Wider radiator fin spacing and a standard reversible fan clear dirt, dust and other large debris to reduce clogging. The box frame offers added durability, and the articulating design provides excellent load distribution and rigidity for improved structural life.

A deeper front fender offers additional wheel coverage for better windshield protection. A rear full fender is optional for improved machine reliability.

POWERFUL PERFORMANCE

Performance features include a powershift transmission with optimized hydraulic pumps, multiple power modes, Z-bar lift arm, return to dig and limited slip differentials on both front and rear axles.

With the high-lift option, you’ll gain additional lift height and reach. Easily load materials like cement, coal or waste into high-sided trucks, hoppers or mixers. High lift is ideal for processing plants, scrap and recycling facilities, and agricultural operations.

The optional Load Isolation System improves stability while moving to reduce material loss when carrying loads.

Add the optional quick coupler to quickly change non-hydraulic attachments without leaving your seat.

COMFORT AND CONTROL

The roomier, more comfortable cab includes relocated controls for more intuitive use. The DEVELON Smart Touch screen displays all important settings and information, including the rearview camera view.

Optional electro-hydraulic controls for the DL280-7 (EMVC) offer load-sensing hydraulics for precise control and reduced fuel consumption.

Increased glass area, a full glass door, larger mirrors and optional LED work lights offer all-around visibility. In addition, the exclusive Standard Transparent Bucket option provides a supplemental visual perspective by allowing operators to “see-through” the bucket from an in-cab display.

An upgraded heating and air conditioning system keeps operators comfortable when working long days. The DEVELON Smart Guidance System provides tips for operators to achieve more efficient machine operation. The DEVELON Smart Key allows push-button engine starts.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is quick and easy on the DL280-7 wheel loader with convenient component access, centralized lubrication points and accessible fluid-level checks.

DEVELON Fleet Management makes it easy to monitor your DL280-7 and manage maintenance to reduce operating costs. You can check fleet status, machine location, operating hours, fuel usage, engine idle vs. work time, error codes, engine and hydraulic oil temperature and various other data points.

FUEL EFFICIENCY

Automatic transmission modes shift gears to maximize efficiency. The standard auto-idle feature reduces engine rpm when the steering wheel or joystick isn’t being used, and auto-shutdown turns off the engine after a set amount of time idling.

Operators can choose from three power modes, including Power mode for demanding tasks, Normal mode for general work conditions and Economy mode to minimize fuel consumption for light-duty work.

To comply with Tier 4 emissions standards, the DL280-7 incorporates a high-pressure common-rail (HPCR) fuel delivery system as well as cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR), combined with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR) with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

LOAD MORE, CARRY MORE, DO MORE

Tremendous lift heights and generous bucket capacities help you power through the heaviest loads. The standard Z-bar lift arm delivers excellent breakout force for digging in tough materials. There’s also a high-lift option on most models for maximum dumping height. Both are ideal for heavy lifting in loading applications, with rapid bucket movement and proper angle positioning for precision performance. Add a larger, optional counterweight for even more lifting flexibility.

Situation Awareness Technology (SAT) monitors loader activity and adjusts the engine output to match real-time requirements for optimal performance and fuel efficiency. Every model offers standard auto-idle and auto shutdown features to lower fuel costs and improve efficiency.

POWER MODES TO MATCH YOUR NEEDS

Each model provides ample power and traction in various working conditions. Choose manual mode for more control or automatic mode for easier operation.

Choose from three power modes to further adapt your loader’s performance to the application and deliver the right balance of power and fuel economy. Power mode delivers the highest level of performance for demanding tasks. Normal mode is ideal for general work conditions and optimal fuel consumption. For models with SAT, the machine automatically adjusts engine output in real time to save fuel. For other models, select Economy mode.

TRAVEL CONFIDENTLY IN TOUGH TERRAIN

The limited slip differential helps provide superior tractive effort and maneuverability in tough terrain. The optional front-locking differential locks the front wheels together for superior traction when driving over loose, slippery terrain or pushing into big, heavy piles. Planetary final drives transfer torque to the wheels to enable higher travel speeds and greater torque.

HEAVY-DUTY COMPONENTS

Our wheel loaders have always featured robust structural materials. We’ve improved on that by adding extra material to the steel box frames for increased durability. The frame’s articulating design provides rigidity for improved structural life.

Other features include double roller bearings in the articulation joint to distribute vertical and horizontal loads over a larger area; higher-quality pins and bushings to help extend maintenance intervals; and an oversized center driveline bearing to improve machine durability.

Stronger axles on select models support larger bucket capacities. Brake discs are exposed to lower rpm and heat generation is reduced, greatly extending their lifetime.

RELIABLE COOLING SYSTEM

A robust and reliable cooling system is critical to minimize machine downtime. The DEVELON wheel loader cooling system on select models includes optimal radiator fin spacing to quickly clear dirt, dust and other large debris to reduce clogging — while keeping the cooling system performing constantly.

The hydraulically driven, variable speed cooling fan slows and speeds up as required by the work demands of your loader. A standard reversible cooling fan is adjustable from the DEVELON Smart Touch display to assist in keeping the cooling system clean in extremely dusty applications. An optional axle cooler on select models prevents the oil temperature from rising to dangerously high levels in long-haul or tough digging applications.

EASY MAINTENANCE

Regular maintenance is quick and easy on DEVELON wheel loaders. Convenient checkpoints, extended service intervals and high-quality components mean you’ll spend less time and money on upkeep. Get ground-level access to grease points and key maintenance points. Easily reach hydraulic test points, oil sampling ports, and engine and coolant drains. DEVELON wheel loaders also feature longer service intervals and automatic features. An available automatic lubrication system option offers improved machine reliability and saves daily maintenance time.

REDESIGNED CAB. REVITALIZED PRODUCTIVITY.

DEVELON wheel loaders offer the best operating experience in the industry with a redesigned cab that’s roomier, quieter and more comfortable.

An improved heating and air conditioning system optimizes airflow and circulation for better comfort in extreme weather. Important and frequently used controls have been relocated for more intuitive use. Optional electronic steering on select models allows operators to control direction and steer the machine with switches comfortably integrated into the left armrest. The air suspension seat has multiple adjustment points for custom comfort.

All -7 Series wheel loaders have the same control setup, so operators won’t miss a beat when moving from machine to machine.

DEVELON SMART TOUCH DISPLAY

Standard on all -7 Series wheel loaders, the easy-to-use DEVELON Smart Touch screen puts all the important settings and information operators need on one display – including the view from the rearview camera.

Operators can monitor critical machine functions and control machine settings, the rearview camera, heating and cooling, reversible fan, DEVELON Smart Guidance System and more from the touch display. The screen can be raised or lowered to the operator’s preference.

IMPROVED VISIBILITY

In a -7 Series wheel loader, operators get an excellent view from the cab. Total glass area is 14% larger than on previous models, and a full glass door improves visibility on the left side. Larger, heated mirrors extend the operator’s view to the side and rear of the machine — improving rear visibility and productivity. Optional LED working lights are also available to improve the view in low-light conditions. The exclusive Standard Transparent Bucket option allows operators to “see-through” the bucket on an in-cab display, providing a supplemental visual perspective for greater productivity.
