DEVELON DA45-5–ARTICULATED DUMP TRUCKS
EXTREME PERFORMANCE AND LARGE PAYLOAD CAPACITY
The DA45-5 articulated dump truck offers the power, technology, comfort and larger payload capacity for challenging non-road construction and mining applications. The standard active payload measuring system helps protect against overloading for confidence when hauling big loads.
You can count on better weight distribution for extreme performance and traction in off-road conditions. The unique DEVELON design with front-mounted turning ring, sloping rear frame and free-swinging rear tandem bogie ensures permanent 6-wheel ground contact. The limited slip differential delivers the highest torque to the wheel offering the best traction.
EXTRA COMFORT FOR LONG WORK DAYS
The hydro-gas, self-leveling front suspension system of the DA45-5 provides superior performance and greater shock absorption – which means a smoother ride and improved operator comfort especially when the machine is empty. The system includes a self-leveling feature and the ability to change characteristics by adjusting the pressure.
When it’s time to head out to another job, the machine's less-than-12-foot width makes it easier to transport from site to site.
EASY SERVICEABILITY
Key service and maintenance points make required daily service checks and maintenance procedures more convenient, including ground-level fuel and DEF fill, more accessible power module and a centralized maintenance panel.
Common oil is used in the DA45-5 wheel hubs, tandem rear bogie and limited slip differential, and grease distribution is improved to reduce grease requirements. A diesel-powered engine heater and fuel pump are available as options. The DA45-5 articulated dump truck includes DEVELON Fleet Management with free cellular service for monitoring the machine’s health, location and productivity for the life of the machine.
UNMATCHED INTERIOR CAB COMFORT
Unparalleled cab comfort includes fully automatic climate control, an air suspension seat, precise steering, exceptional visibility and low noise levels. Ergonomic controls are at your fingertips and a soft-touch dashboard is easier to keep clean.
The vehicle control unit includes robust hardware, a faster processor and more input channels. The monitor displays critical information including speed, engine rpm, machine warnings and more – and offers bigger gauges, user-friendly graphics and the ability to display multiple camera views. Standard features include electrically adjustable mirrors and a mobile USB charger.
TIER 4 TECHNOLOGY
To reach Tier 4 emissions standards, the DA45-5 incorporates a high-pressure common-rail (HPCR) fuel delivery system. It also offers cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) combined with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalyst reduction (SCR).
HAUL WITH CONFIDENCE
High productivity means more material moved every day. The DEVELON articulated dump truck (ADT) lineup offers larger load capacities in their respective weight class categories along with superior power and traction. Each model is reliable, dependable, and cost-effective. Backed by more than 40 years of excellence in the ADT market, DEVELON ADTs are built for tough hauling conditions and travel over 34 miles per hour. With sure-footed traction, maximum ground contact and a quick-unloading tailgate, they are ideal for applications such as construction sites, road projects, mass excavation, mining, and quarrying environments.
PERFORMANCE
MAXIMUM POWER-TO-WEIGHT
Engine sizes, torque and horsepower have been carefully selected to achieve max performance across criteria including load capacity, driveline ratio performance and transmission efficiency. And DEVELON leads the industry in power-to-weight ratio.
STEADY PERFORMANCE EVERY TIME
A strong frame and body design with lightweight, high-grade, wear-resistant steel reduces the total weight of the truck. This leads to less horsepower required for operation. In addition, the transmission configuration features smooth gear shifting and improves the transfer of power from the engine to the driveline.
For more reliable dumping performance, a center of gravity adjustment assists in managing load placement during dumping. If a load starts to pull the hoist cylinders backward, the system adjusts to slow down the dumping speed of the truck body, letting you prevent spillage or unexpected dumping.
WORK HARDER IN DIFFICULT TERRAIN.
A key feature of DEVELON ADTs is the front-mounted turning ring which, with the free-swinging rear tandem gear-driven bogie, allows permanent 6-wheel contact for smoother rides in very rough and soft terrain. Greater shock absorption from the new hydro-gas, self-leveling front suspension adds to increased stability as the trucks move across jobsites.
A sloping rear frame, in combination with the track width, provides a lower center of gravity, which increases lateral stability and eliminates the need for wide, low-profile tires. A gradient meter helps you monitor the incline and pitch for improved safety.
RELIABILITY & MAINTENANCE
DESIGNED FOR DURABILITY.
The reliability of DEVELON articulated dump trucks sets them apart from the rest. How? Durable components and proven manufacturing processes. Specifically designed engine and transmission components are thoroughly tested to maximize the quality of the trucks.
VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT KEEPS YOU INFORMED
The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) on DEVELON ADTs displays on a new in-cab monitor with larger gauges and intuitive graphics controlled by display panel buttons. Increased visibility around the truck comes via the rearview camera viewable on the main display. You can also quickly check machine status, service and settings by toggling through the on-screen menu.
MAINTENANCE WITHIN YOUR REACH
DEVELON ADTs are designed to make maintenance easy. Ground-level filling for fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) allow for easier access. A centralized maintenance panel also offers ground access to transmission filters and drain ports as well as the auto-lube system, grease storage and more.
The updated cab structure and mounting provide easier transmission service when needed.
The ADT power module also features easier access with an emergency shutdown button and lockable battery disconnect switch.
COMFORT & INSTRUMENTS
UNPARALLELED LEVELS OF COMFORT.
Whether you face long days or rugged jobsites, you’ll stay comfortable in a DEVELON articulated dump truck — even when conditions are at their worst.
The cabin design offers unparalleled levels of comfort and meets both Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective (FOPS) criteria. Features include air conditioning, an air suspension seat, precise steering, good visibility and low noise levels. A sloping hood provides an excellent view from the cab. Fully automatic climate control and a rubber suspension cab mounting provide improved operating conditions.
MORE CRITICAL INFORMATION AT A GLANCE
DEVELON ADTs keep you in the know with a new active payload measuring system that shows each load’s weight on-screen for increased load optimization and productivity. Outside the cab, a traffic-light-style indicator helps excavator and wheel loader operators prevent overloading.
The easy-to-read, multi-function 7-inch display easily relays additional critical info including speed, engine rpm, machine warnings, temperatures and more. Monitor fuel and DEF usage with gauges displaying both levels and consumption. An on-screen gradient meter also offers improved safety.
MORE PRECISION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Inside the cab of select models, you’ll find a fingertip-controlled body-dumping lever located next to the gear selection lever. Control of the body dumping is done with minimal operator strain. The hoist function incorporates a higher body-up speed and automatic body-down features, providing a soft, controlled lowering of the dump body that improves ease of operation and control.
The “tiptronic” gear shift feature enables you to run the truck in both automatic and manual to ensure the smoothest gear shifts and momentum during operation. Add to that the benefit of low cabin vibration provided by rubber suspension mounts.
